Lessons For Rebranding Your Blog
Forget the New Year — for me, fall is the perfect time to step back and refresh, rejuvenate, and revamp. Why? Because curling up with a blanket, some (spiked) hot chocolate and the warmth of my laptop sounds like the perfect cold weather, rainy night in.
Long story short, the weather is not the only change.
As you may have noticed, the name on this website has changed from Launch Ladies to Kristy Ellington (that's me!) . This is mostly because when I started Launch Ladies, I was hoping to help women create better content for their small businesses online.
But I soon realized that bloggers — the kind that want to turn their blogs INTO their businesses — have my heart and my brain.
So I'm making the site a little more accessible to the women I'm serving.
So what's changing around here? Not much. I'll still be providing super valuable content via the blog and the podcast.
Granted there's been a bit of a break while I set things up behind the scenes, but will also be something NEW coming soon that I'm SO INCREDIBLY excited about.
It's called the Fempire Academy. And it's a place for women to launch, grow, and monetize their blogs through in-depth, step-by-step trainings and live calls.
There's more to come on that soon (doors officially open on 11/15), but there's a few things I've learned about rebranding that I thought I'd share here. Since — you know, I'm going through that right now, and I've talked to a lot of bloggers that are wondering if they should rebrand too.
So here they are.
- It doesn't matter what you're called as long as you're adding value to your reader's lives. Don't dwell on the name as much as you should be dwelling on the content.
- The technical stuff is hard, but it's not as hard as you think. Don't stress over this.
- Listen to your gut. If it's telling you to pivot, then do it! Passion trumps logic, so just commit and do it.
